If you haven't played Worms before you will probaby enjoy it far more than those of us who have been fans of the series for two decades. It's louder now, so I have to turn it down at night. It's brighter, shiny, and more detailed now, which, strangley, makes it hard to 'see' the field properly. Too often it's easy to confuse background graphics as part of the fore ground and vice versa. You will run into a wall you didn't know was literally right in front of your worm, or your worm will plumet to its death because the dry ground you jumped onto was NOT right in front of your worm.

Ackward timing on jumps has always been an issue with the series, but the timing is not the same kind of awkward this time around. If you're not getting wedged between a poorly defined wall, your character is falling to its death because its response to your jump is delayed. I also found the graphics difficult to see. While you're likely playing on a large television, the colors of the weapons selection map make it difficult to see what you're selecting unless you wait for the text box to pop up and reveal what you're hovering over. Many times, that wastes the time left in your turn. Overall I found the game to be rather frustrating.

The only reason I didn't give it a one is because I like the concept, and it's also rather charming. Pocket trains new cities. Other than that, I wouldn't waste your sanity.
