Higurashi no Naku Koro ni (ひぐらしのなく頃に, Higurashi no Naku Koro ni?, lit. When the Cicadas Cry) is an anime adaptation of the Higurashi no Naku Koro ni visual novel series was announced by 07th Expansion and animated by Studio DEEN. The series contained twenty-six episodes, which aired between April 4th and September 26th, on a number of Japanese television networks, including.
The young group of friends in the town of Hinamizawa continue to have terrible conflicts with one another in their never ending summer of 1983, often ending with the brutal murder of one of their members. With the help of her spiritual friend, Hanyuu, Furude Rika tackles these challenges over and over, trying her best to keep their lives from coming to a tragic end. With no end to the torture in sight, Rika must call upon the bonds of friendship and trust among her friends to discover the true villain of this eternal June.
In series one we saw the same few weeks in 1983 in the village of Hinamizawa playing out like a twisted 'Groundhog Day'. Each time ending in paranoia, insanity and murder. We are told that there is a curse that caused the deaths but we don't know why time is repeating or the cause of the curse. That was the 'questions arc'; now in series two we get the 'solutions arc'. Over the course of this season we learn that one of our school-aged protagonists is fully aware that this time is repeating and has endured the weeks leading up to their murder over and over for about a hundred years.
Different actions may change how things come to pass but the end result is the same. The something happens; others have ideas of what happened before leading to the hope that the events may finally end. Intertwined with this we learn that another character has far more to do with events than anybody could have suspected. Season one of 'When They Cry' earnt a reputation as a particularly disturbing horror anime with scenes at least as disturbing as many mainstream horror movies.
Set in a political landscape designed to resemble 1930s Europe, the action finds gamers using a mix of tactical role-playing and real-time action sequences to successfully guide their small, peaceful nation though a massive conflict between two neighboring superpowers. The conflict takes place between the Imperial Alliance, whose unification under an emperor and hatred of one particular race mirror Hitler's Germany, and the Atlantic Federation, a coalition of democratic governments that have joined forces to provide greater security. Product InformationSega's critically acclaimed strategy RPG gets updated for PS4 with HD graphics, trophy support, and all previously released add-on content in Valkyria Chronicles Remastered. In the middle is the tiny principality of Gallia, a land very much like Switzerland in its policy of mandatory military service despite a stated position of neutrality in armed conflicts.
This series sees a change of direction. The gore is almost all gone but there is a decent amount of action instead; particularly towards the end of the series. We also get some really good character development; not just for the main cast but also for the person revealed as the main antagonist. I liked the fact that this character was given a good back story that made it possible to have some sympathy for them even when their behaviour is clearly wrong. The animation is good; certainly better than the first season and while the character designs haven't changed they look better drawn.
Overall I certainly enjoyed this and was pleased to see the questions raised in season one answered; I'd certainly recommend watching this if you enjoyed the first season; just don't expect the disturbing scares. These comments are based on watching the series in Japanese with English subtitles.

To see previous AMAs,. Normal anime fight: 'This is my energy sword! It's fueled by my aura and can cut through anything!
That armor of yours is useless!' Type-Moon fight: 'You would call my weapon a 'sword'? This is no ordinary weapon. A sword 'cuts' because it is 'sharp'.
That is to say, because its edge is narrow and then becomes wider, it 'pushes' matter apart. Splitting flesh from flesh and bone from bone, it creates a 'gap'. Where there once was matter, there is now nothing.
In that sense, the 'cut' is powerful because it allows you to reduce 'something' to 'nothing'. But this 'cutting' is also a sword's weakness. The sword can only cut through matter that is less 'hard' than the sword is 'sharp'. That is to say, if you compare the target's 'hardness' to the sword's 'sharpness', the sword can only 'cut' if its sharpness is the greater of the two. Your armor has great 'hardness'. A sword is useless against you.
But my weapon is different. Though it takes the shape and appearance of a 'sword', it does not 'cut'. Hence, it cannot truly be called a 'sword' at all. My weapon does not have that weakness of swords, the need to 'cut'. Rather, it bypasses that process entirely, and applies only the 'gap'. Not a gap created by 'pushing', but rather, the 'application' of the very concept of a 'gap'. An ordinary sword 'cuts' in order to create a 'gap', but my weapon skips the first step entirely.
Against it, the concepts of 'hardness' is meaningless. Do you understand? Your 'defense' means nothing.' Of course, in both cases the ensuing sword strike is blocked immediately.
